Reformation Exhibit at St.James Cathedral

The exhibit will open in the nave of the Cathedral in the late afternoon of Wednesday, October 25, 2017 prior to the special 1549 service, light supper and lecture.

Objects on display will include:

  • Luther’s sermon for the Feast of St. James, printed at Wittenberg, 1522
  • Luther’s sermon for the Feast of John the Baptist, printed at Wittenberg, 1522
  • First Edition of The Great Bible of Henry VIII, printed in London, 1539
  • Book of Common Prayer. Printed in London. 1662
  • Foxe’s Book of Martyrs, 2nd Edition, printed in London, 1570
  • The Roman Missal, printed in Venice after the decrees of the Council of Trent, 1662
  • Two of Luther’s caricatures
  • A number of copies of old engravings
